Behind The Razor Wire - Testimonials on how the program is changing lives.

God's Grace is Amazing

Dear Bev and Ferd,

I just want to drop you a note as I have made it off from parole! God's grace is amazing and is what helped me through this all. I cannot thank you both enough from the depths of my heart. Before I became a part of the program at Florence Crane I really was feeling low on myself. I felt that I am just another prisoner that does not really matter. But thanks to your hard work and love for greyhounds and love for others helped me get out of that slump. God has shown me that some of the greatest people in the bible have been in prison or did something wrong. Moses is a great example, he sinned against God more than once and even killed a man. But God in his Grace and love used Moses to lead the Israelites from captivity!

Since coming home I have been going to college and have earned a place on the dean's list all three semesters so far. And I have to thank you all for that. If Mrs. Barnes, Mr. Klee, or you two would of not believed in me I would not be where I am now. I felt that I can accomplish something that matters and that is larger than me. Also since coming home I was baptized and accepted into a loving church family that is able to look past my past and see my potential. I get the greatest joy every Sunday when I volunteer and serve my church in the sound booth and also with the visual aids.

I may not be able to offer you much help right now as I do not have a job and I am a full time student, but I have been praying for you all and the program. You two and each dog I helped with will always have a special place in my heart as it was such a blessing. But when I am able to and once I get a job, I will send you all some monetary help.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am truly grateful for your program. It has really helped me in getting back to life out here and making me know that I can be valuable again to society.

In Christ's Love,

Jason Canfield

Ephesians 4:1-6

1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Jason, also found real freedom in this program ... Ferd & Beverly
