Letters from My Forever Home!
I thought I would share a little story about Chester and how he is fitting in with our police family hehehe!
Last Sunday in the early morning hours, I was awaken by Chester barking. I looked at the clock and it was 4 a.m. Urgh what is going on I thought!!! I went to see what was going on because Chester does not bark ... really he doesn't, it's one of those rare events so I had to investigate.
I get up and see that Chester is in our entryway and looking outside the front windows. When he notices that I am up, he hurries to his bed and lies down. I didn't even have to say anything. I quickly looked out and saw nothing but hear a pretty loud bang. It was quick so I thought maybe thunder but looked and saw no clouds or signs of rain. My second thought was maybe fireworks but it was 4 a.m. Hearing nothing else I went back to bed although my suspicious mind was thinking about the unusual sound ... A few moments later I hear the banging again and became very attentive and surely I heard it again and felt that it was coming from my neighbour's who is also my partner at work that was out of town at the time!
I quickly got up and walked to the washroom which had a window looking to the side and before I got close, I noticed that his motion sensor light was on. Something was up! I peeked through the blinds and saw that someone was trying to get into the van in his driveway!!!
Well, I will spare you the details of someone trying to get into the van of someone living next to two police officers but everything ended well thanks to Chester's alertness and signals hehehe! I felt bad after for thinking: Urgh, what the hell is Chester doing ... (although in more colorful terms hehehe)
Well, Chester was the neighborhood Hero and was rewarded by my neighbor who bought him a little gift! A new squeaking Kong throwing toy, his favorite!!! So long story short, Chester is fitting in just fine in our crime fighting family!
