Letters from My Forever Home!

Katy. This girl loves her fruit and vegetables!

Our greyhound is named Sol Katy. She came to us in September as a foster. Of course we ended up signing adoption papers, because who could give this dog up?

Katy is spunky. She is pushy and demanding. She will plow her way through to be the first for treats. But she is also so soft; she loves affection from anyone - even perfect strangers - and will nuzzle her head into your lap for petting. She adores snuggling on the couch and having her belly rubbed.

Katy's very favorite place in the world is in our van. Every time we walk outside the door, she pulls us toward it. On cool days, we will open the door and just let her sit inside, happy as can be.

Katy still remembers her sit and stay commands (sometimes:-) She knows that she must sit and wait quietly when we put her food bowl down. When she makes eye contact, then she is given the command "okay!" and will race over to her bowl. Her favorite snack is the pulp when we juice carrots, ginger, apple, beets. This girl loves her fruit and vegetables!

The Second Chance at Life is an amazing program. I can't think of any other program that seems to benefit both animals and humans so well. It gives me such a good feeling to know that our dear pup was given love and affection by her inmate handlers before we even knew her. The men who took care of Katy will always have a special place in my heart, even though I have never met them. Thank you for your time, your dedication, your generosity.

Keeli and Katy says, Thank you for giving me a 2nd Chance at Life!
